Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? The newest
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Almost all of them.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just play the game.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim accrues fame points
What do you expect to see? The sim should not accrue fame points
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Beats me. Check your own stuff. It was fixed, then it wasn't.

As said above: This was fixed, now it is broken again. I have opt out of fame checked in the game settings, yet the sim accrues fame points by default.

The same happens with me too. It is frustrating because the sim then gets sad when you lose the fame even though they weren't meant to have it in the first place. I even have start in spotlight disabled but they keep gaining fame whenever they paint or publish books.

@pastelbat88 If you cancel the fame while they are asleep or at work they avoid the Sadness Moodlet. It passes by without affecting them.
I agree I wish this was fixed. I've been making celebrity Sims for a couple of weeks I thought I may as well!

This explains why I keep finding randomized sim celebrities. I thought I had forgotten to turn fame off, but I had not!

I have the gameplay option of opting out of fame selected but my sim is still gaining fame when I use my mail box sell to publisher.

This happens to me too! Last time it occurred was Nov 8th 2023.

Sims who have chosen to forgo the spotlight will no longer gain unwanted fame.

Fixed in Patch 1.103.250/1.84
