sims 3 not launching

i just recently got a acer predator and it will load me into the main screen for sims3 but after i press play it just takes me back to the ea app. i dont have mods for it, and i dont have anything downloaded form the store content because it also wont let me install anything from the sims3 store....

The launcher's installer has the same problem as the game itself, so the workarounds in the accepted solution of that thread work equally well for both.  If you use the Lazy Duchess patch, you don't need to do anything else.  If you use the Task Manager method, you'll need to apply it every time you launch the game or install content through the launcher.

If this doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
