Sims 3 launcher will not work, can't update the game, can't play the game.

Hi,

 

I had to reset my laptop to factory settings a few weeks ago, 

Today I reinstalled my sims 3 including my expansion packs:

- Generations

- Pets

- Outdoor living.

They were installed from a disc.

I had no problem with the installation.

I have installed origin.

 

When I attempt to open the game (via the sims 3, or any of the expansion pack) i am presented with a message telling me the sims 3 launcher has stopped working

When I attempt to open the game through the Bin folder, I am told my game is not up to date and I should update it via the game launcher (which i cannot open)

My games have not been registered on origin (except for Pets expansion pack) as they were pre-loved and the previous owner must have registered them on their own accounts.

I have tried finding a solution to this problem with no luck

 

I appreciate your help

I suggest you try these simple steps, for some this has solved similar issues.

First do a repair install of the game in Origin, In origin right click your game and from drop down choose Repair Game.

Run Origin as Administrator - Right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatibility tab and tick the box next to RUN AS ADMIN.

All I got was origin shutting down everytime i tried to repair the game, im gonna try again but it seems hopeless

and running it as admin didnt do much either
