It's very simple: X is generally unresponsive, and Shepard will almost immediately stop sprinting, or only sprint briefly.
It's not an issue with the controller: I relaunched ME2 and the X button worked perfectly fine there.

Was there a solution for this?

Definitely an issue and at times annoying. I don't generally sprint. When I do that happens. Needs to be addressed.

I did find a solution that worked for me.
I discovered that I could sprint if I used the original dual shock 4 controller rather than the new dual shock 4 controller.
The difference between the 2 controllers is that there is a blue light just above the touchpad on the new controller and not the older controller.
Hope it helps you guys out.

Can confirm this worked. The controller I was using is a new one, and I dug my old one out of the closet, and sure enough it worked. Unfortunately the working controller, also has a broken R2 trigger, so I'll need to find an original PS4 controller online to keep playing. Thanks again for the workaround!
