Hello!!! @thebronze
Check the minimum system requirements of the game against your computer (Windows/Mac) and update any drivers that are out-of-date.
Unplug all USB devices (aside from the mouse and keyboard) and try the game again.
Disable the Origin in-game overlay (IGO).
To do this, launch the Origin client, then go to the Origin menu, Application Settings, Origin In Game, and then uncheck "Enable Origin In Game."
Update the game.
Repair the game install.
Update your system (Windows/Mac)

Hello @thebronze. Its strange about ur progress, that almost all stored on ea servers 0_o.
About problem.
1) Always run Origin as Admin
2) Disable any overclock of CPU and GPU
3) Run commandline as Admin and enter a command:
ECHO Y | CHKDSK C: /F /X
SFC /SCANNOW
4) This may cause some programs like "Razer Surround/Synapse", Rivatuner, Fraps, MSI Afterburner, ASRock eXtreme Tuner, Skype, XFire, XSplit and other...
Keep in mind, if u use simultaneously some game programs (Steam, Origin, "Nvidia Experience", "AMD Gaming Evolved",...) that have some option overlay feature over/in game - this is 90% conflict, you'd use only one that program or overlay feature over/in game should be turn on only in one program.
Try to close all of kind process or update/delete it. Also check ur browser for any strange plugins and disabe it
5) Try to delete folder settings of bf4 C:\Users\[user name]\Documents\Battlefield 4\
6) Try playing in "clean boot" mode

Try doing a clean boot of your computer without disabling Punkbuster and see if it runs then:
http://help.ea.com/en-us/help/FAQ/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc
It was already suggested but I didn't see a result.
Also, if you could attach a dxdiag.txt file to this thread that will help:
