I am furious. I have posted previously about having already been charged the moment I pre-ordered the Sims. however, it never arrived. I contacted them through the live chat and the advisor had NO solution except to call them. which I had before. I called and no one picked up for about 5 minutes. so I decided to hang up. I have JUST called and waited for slightly more than 20 minutes, taken off £5 worth of credit off of me, and still, no one picked up. am furious and need help! should I just get a refund? and how do I do this? when the item does not even appear in my order history!

That sounds super frustrating. Unfortunately the only way I know how to get a refund is by calling them. I had to wait over an hour to go through two different people...and this was after I had tried live chatting. The game advisor I live chatted with couldn't give refunds. So yeah there's nothing I can help with except give you the same info you already know.
Only EA can handle account issues like lost registration codes, recovering passwords, purchasing/refunds, etc. Here is a link to contact them: https://help.ea.com/contact-us
Also, here's a post on how to navigate the contact page in case it's confusing: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2012/10/how-to-contact-ea.html (Just so you know there is no longer an email option, only live chat and phone.)
Best of luck.

an hour? I had already run out of credit. that means what? another £10 to charge me? this is completely ridiculous. how can I just get the game to arrive without me having to contact anyone! I cannot be more furious at how ridiculous their contacting system is.

the online advisor I spoke to told me that my requests to eventually send it to me or to refund it if it is never going to arrive was sent to a supervisor. however, I can't help but feel like I can't exactly trust the online advisor. however, do you think if I just waited for the game that it would eventually arrive? or have they just skived off with my money?

I'm not sure what else you could do. I've never order a physical game from Origin so I don't know how long it usually takes. I know I've seen others also complain about the wait times so may be someone else will have a better idea of the delivery process.
I do know that refunds take forever (at least thats what it seems like when you're poor). Since I paid with my debit card I had to wait 7-10 days for them to "receive" the money, even though it was taken out of my account right away, and then wait another 7-10 days from there for the money to get back to me. So with that in mind, may be it's best to just try waiting? I'm not sure.
Hope it works out for you.

I just spoke to another online advisor who said he has cancelled my order and that I should be getting my money back through PayPal within 2-3 working days. I hope he's not lying to me.
on a separate note, if I get online purchases and let's say change my laptop, will I be able to download it again?

Yes. Your download purchases are connected to your Origin account. When you get a new laptop, you can reinstall the games from the Origin client. I believe you can have the game downloaded on up to five computers at a time.
