Sims 3 installed from CD won't launch, no way to add this to EA app

I've bought a pre-owned copy of The Sims 3, on disc, and installed it. For context, I have an Asus ROG Flow Z13 with Windows 11, 16GB RAM, 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900H, with an external CD reader and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card. There's also the option to use Intel Iris Xe on the device manager, but I don't know. The Sims 3 Launcher starts, but when I click play, nothing happens. I've tried everything. I tried installing DirectX 9, I tried setting the affinity to CPU1, tried compatibility mode, tried running it as administrator. NOTHING has worked. I'd also assumed that there'd be an option for me to add this game to the EA app without having to buy it again, but no. The serial number has already been used, as well. I'm basically at my wit's end here. Has anyone else had this problem?

@trueblue170  When you set the affinity in the Task Manager, did you do so for TS3.exe or TS3W.exe?  A disc install that doesn't invlove the EA App uses TS3W.exe, with the W.

If that's not the issue, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

I don't work for EA. I'm just trying to help fellow players with their games.
