Downloading software for The Sims 3 Outdoor Living

I recently bought a digital download of The Sims 3 Outdoor Living Expansion pack from Target.com.  I followed the instructions to download the software and it said the product key worked, but when I play the game, I don't see anything new. What do I do? Or what did I do wrong?

Please, make sure the game is actually installed by going to the Extra content tab in the game details. You will find a post explaining how to do that here.

If the game shows as installed there, then go to the "Expansions & Stuff" tab in launcher and make sure Outdoor living is checked there.

Was any of these the problem?
