@itsaxolotlgaming Please move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just start a new save, or try to, and see how it works.
If you get another freeze or crash, let me know when, for example when you should see the opening video or halfway through loading the new save or while in CAS.
Please also list the full specs of your Mac: everything under About This Mac including the operating system and except for the serial number.
