Please help. I'm not very tech savvy. I recently bought a new MAC and iCloud transferred over my applications and files from my old MAC. Sims 3 played on the new MAC but crashed in Buy mode several times and froze. I wanted to play the expansion packs. I found them in my Origin Library, bought a few new ones (Generations and World Adventures) and downloaded and installed those, plus externally downloaded and installed Seasons, Ambitions, etc. When I did so, I received the message "Sims 3 is newer than expected. Expansion packs may not be compatible". Then when I tried to play Sims 3, I got the error message "Are you sure you want to play while downloads are in progress?" But I don't see any downloads in progress. After clicking yes, Sims 3 icon opens, but when Seasons expansion pack icon opened I got "Unknown Error" and was unable to play. I tried uninstalling Season, but now the same thing is happening with the other Expansion packs. Did I do something wrong on install? I am running Macos Sierra with a 3.1 Intel Core processor and 16GB of memory so that shouldn't be an issue. Thank you for any advice or tips.
