Chocolate Factory contest task does not “fix itself” as suggested above.

★★★ Novice

The Chocolate Factory contest task, which is impossible to complete, remains stuck in my COM task list after completing over 30 tasks.   EA indicates in the post above that it will drop off the list    That’s just not true    Probably only happens if you cancel the task, which penalizes you with the loss of a ticket

It would be great if you could actually fix this before COM ends for those of us who are affected by it.

@TxGameDude It was never going to fix itself. Tasks never just drop off the list. The only way to remove them is to complete the task which we know is impossible or to start the task and cancel it which as you says wastes an opportunity to score points.

No doubt the community manager who posted the original comment was aware of this which is why the post is locked and cannot be replied to.

Come on EA admit you have fouled up COM yet again and put it right!

Not to mention that one of the "prizes" on the reward track is a piece of freaking WALL from two seasons ago! It doesn't even match this season's theme! Three days in to season 14 and it pretty much stinks.

It’s Saturday now. We have a day and a half left in the Contest of Mayors and we still have no fix, no word or acknowledgment as to when it will get fixed and no goodwill from EA. I am very disappointed, especially as a paying customer.

@RioValley In the top post of this section in the thread “Issue-Contest-of-Mayors-quot-produce-x-item-from-the-chocolate @EA_Leeloo shared the following:

“We've looked into this and understand that the Chocolate Factory is now closed making it tough if not impossible for you to craft those items.

Our specialist team let us know that this issue seems to fix itself - which is great! So, if you are seeing this task, please try to complete other tasks on the list. You'll find that when you wrap up a task, new tasks will appear to replace them and the "produce x item from the chocolate factory" task will fall off of that list and no longer be prompted for you.”

I believe the CM certainly acted in good faith...unfortunately the “specialist team” provided incorrect information as we all can attest to. Sadly, I suspect everyone is dealing with the same issue (unless they deleted that specific task) and I believe the best we can hope for is there will not be any more chocolate factory tasks next week.

Support response:

many of the players are getting the same assignments. Good thing is that this has been brought to the notice of the Studio Team and they are diligently working to fix it as soon as possible.

I would request you to wait for some time till this gets through. I know nobody likes to wait however rest assured the team is actively working on it and the issue is being addressed on priority.

Don't worry, we will get it sorted out soon. Your patience and cooperation will be much appreciated during this meantime.”

If they actually put the effort described  into this for 6 days and  that resulted in  nothing that is truly pathetic

i would’ve had more respect if they just said we are sorry we screwed up, and can’t fix it before next weeks rotation.   At that point the issue will go away

@TxGameDude  I completely agree with your assessment, a simple apology would have gone a long way. This in comparison to a few other issues we’ve seen is relatively minor, so I don’t understand why a member of the “specialist team” would share something so obviously inaccurate with a CM that was acting in good faith. Makes you wonder...
