Matchmaking issues

Hey, i started playing only a few days back and i haven't been able to ever play a single galactic assualt game mode till now, the pertaining issue is that there is isn't many people to play it anymore , do we really need to have 20 people to play it from the beginning, can't we have something like to join in between ongoing games or such??

Unless something has changed recently, GA has always allowed players to join mid-match.
