Need for speed hot pursuit [2010] won't install on Windoes 8.1! [ Edited ]

Game won't  install from c.d on windows 8.1.

I get past  putting in the code for the game but then it freezes at about 3% in and i can't get it to work.

I have tried turning off my antivirus and my firewall and running it in XP compatibility mode while also running the game as administrator.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Does it look like the disc is damaged or scratched in any way?

No, the disc is not scratched or damaged.

The disc also runs/plays fine on my other PC.

Here is some more info on the laptop that the game won't install on.

HP ENVY

Processor - AMD A1-4600M APU with Radeon[tm] HD Graphics    2.30 GHz

[5.46] GB usable

64-bit Operating System x64-based processor

You refer to [5.46] GB usable, if that is disk space then it could be the reason you are having an issue as the install is 8.13GB in size.

Are you logging in with the same Origin account as on the machine that does work with this game?

The "[5.46] GB usable" in the Windows system info refers to the amount of RAM, not the HDD size.

Hmmm, okay your GPU does meet the minimum requirements.

Do you have at least 10GB of free hard drive space?
