i too have left in "rage" only to realise that maybe.. just maybe i put myself in that bad situation when i die, maybe i was to aggresive maybe to defensive. WHO KNOWS ^^
A 5 min. time out would prob. be a good idea to get calm and reset.
Dont you agree? do you have another or better solution for this issue?
A better solution would be to move leavers to a seperate queue so they play with other leavers, until they've played a certain amount of games without leaving.

Regrettably the quitters are going to increase as there is no consequence to XP for leaving .

TL;DR: not till ranked or any form of MM is in place.
I know! I hate it too, but on the opposite side, if I'm the downed one, I don't want to be super punished for leaving in case my mate can't res me, like when he's half map away, etc.
So I would'nt be that harsh, especially when there is no rankings nor matchmaking system.
After adding MM or ranked, punishment could be taken under consideration.
Lets say, that it could work like in some other f2p games, when you die and can be resurrected and you leave = you cant join new game for the small amout of time (say 3 mins).
So ppl will be facing decision, leave now and wait 3 minutes in game menu or stay and wait max 60 seconds for respawn timer (when not being saved by teammates).

Do you see the issue here. You are mentioning all the reasons why nothing should be done, and all the reasons why people SHOULD quit. That alone is Toxic..

So what happens when we drop and the 3rd guy diverges from our path and goes the complete opposite direction, lands 900m away, and the my teammate and I die? No possible way for the idiot to come revive us. I report him for unsporting behavior because he didn't drop with team and then leave the match. Getting a debuff for that would be *. Or how about when 2 of us dies and 1 of them leaves immediately? What happens to the second person that leaves the match because it's hopeless now that the first guy left? This system wouldn't work. It is quicker and simpler to simply leave and join a new game. Especially if 2/3 teammates die immediately after landing because they can't find weapons and/or can't land their shots.

Then as #14 said: people leaving as I get to the recovery beacon with their banner. This hasn't happened to me just once. This has happened close to a dozen times for me already. It is the most demotivating and frustrating thing I deal with. Like, dude I just killed the squad, recovered your banner, ran all the way to the recovery beacon and your going to leave me hanging? There are no more enemies around and plenty of death boxes to loot, including your own. Ffs.

I don't know what you're on about. I suggested a solution that's a compromise, so people that need to leave for whatever reason don't have to be punished and put them in separate games so that people that cry because they can't win on their own have less leavers in their game.
But all you people aren't interested in a solution, you just want people punished for abandoning you. Here's a tip, get good at the game and people are less likely to leave. When I see my team mate has over a thousand kills I usually don't leave.

@MekaDeth555 First off I have never advicated for a punishment system, in fact I have argued on behalf of not having one.
My point to you is that you justified quitting. You said;
"1) Too many toxic players, I should not be punished for abandoning them.
2) It exacerbates toxicity. When I am forced to stay in a game with bad players, I too become toxic, this is the only game I haven't been tilted to the point of toxicity as I can just ragequit when I'm feeling tilted.
3) if my team wants to play hide and seek instead of engage the enemy, I'm not staying.
5) When you're put in a team with two new players and you get killed by a fully kitted player with 5000 kills, you already know the outcome, why make me wait to watch them die?"
How is that a solution? When you advocate for quitting, which you did, you add voice to those doing it. Like you are saying "ohh that's alright, it may be wrong but keep it up". So you are supporting the problem, not the voice of reason for the solution.
It's like talking to a alcoholic and saying "You know a few drinks won't kill you, but maybe we should have bars close early so you aren't drinking all night.".. When dealing with a server problem, you have to explain to those causing it that it is an issue. Show them WHY it's a negative, not explain WHY you do the same things. How can a person, doing the EXACT same thing, convince others it's not right? They can't.
