Non existent footsteps in nearly every match.
Why does the dev tracker say its been fixed????

Not only footsteps.
Yesterday some dude respawned behind me. There was now audio of the plane. Suprise mf
Also, sometimes you can not hear the strom coming.

Yep, if anything the audio cue drop outs have become *more* noticeable not less.
Missing water splashing & foot steps, silent drop ships, grapples & ziplines.
Presumably this is a client side audio mixer limitation? Can't they just increase the max voices/sources?
Or if they don't want to raise minimum specs across the board, have max voices be user configurable.

Apparently this is asking too much.
Just like its asking too much to have muzzle flash in shadowy areas not make it impossible for you to see 3 seasons later.

Audio is definitely broken and it has a huge impact.
Some enemy players footsteps are not coming through and then they are suddenly right behind you and you get lasered.
Never had this before S03.
Really ruins some games...

The game forces you to use 7.1 surround sound (or at least it does to me and literally everybody I play with). So if you are not using 7.1 surround set up then all teh sound that SHOULD be coming out of the speakers you don't have is either missing or at the very least VERY quiet.
You can help the issue by turning on "Windows Sonic" https://www.howtogeek.com/356481/how-windows-sonic-spatial-sound-works/
But this merely improves the situation, it does not fix it.
The better question would be, why do the APEX developers think every single player uses surround sound?
