Bought a boost, but I can't boost a character

I recently purchased a character boost, claimed it, then used it. I went to boost/create a character and I don't see how to boost a character. What do I do to actually get the boost I am a Preferred player, but not a subscriber if that helps.

To use a boost you need to have access to KOTFE ad KOTET content, this can be gained by subscribing for 30 days, as you keep that access after the sub drops

So i guess the first question is have you been a subscriber since kotfe and kotet has been released ?
