Refund? [ Edited ]

Hi,

I purchased a digital copy of the Sims 3 + Sims 3 Pets Expansion pack, and it is lagging A LOT. It lags to the point where I cannot play it. This problem only started recently, and I've tried many ways to get rid of the lag. 

I was thinking about getting a refund, but I read that you can only get one within seven days of purchase. I have had the game for about a months now. Is it still possible to get a refund of both the base game and expansion pack?
