Hi,
After selecting a character, I can't get to next without crashing with low memory
Is there a memory leak or do I have low memory?
I have AMD R9 290 which has 4GB of memory.

my system has 8GB of memory.

Hi,
I found out the cause of my problem and fix.
I hope this can help someone.
I was getting low memory which caused it random crash at login as well as mentioned above.
Then I remembered the virtual memory: I've set to 1GB (1024 MB) as part of optimization that I set long ago (use physical ram and save space on SSD).
After changing virtual memory to system managed (which is meant to take as much as you need), it fixed the random crashing problem and works fine. My physical memory though is still at 6GB out of 8GB (leaving 2GB free).
For those who would want to check, you can check this way:
for Windows 8.1 / 8
I could play without low memory issue and can play with ultra setting... and now my video card heats up the room with loud fan...
I hope this helps someone

@viwind Hi,
Thanks for your report. AMD just released a new Beta Driver specifically aimed at Dragon Age: Inquisition: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMDCatalyst14-11-2-BetaWINReleaseNotes.aspx
Can you give this a try and report back whether you are still experiencing these issues?
Cheers,
Nils

Hi Nils,
Thank you for the reply,
I've installed the latest beta driver and I still run into crashing. I didn't see the typical DX memory bug but instead just closes it.
However, changing graphics settings to Medium seems to help as I could play for an hour without a problem.
Let me know if I should take further steps.
My system memory load is at 6GB with DX leaving 2 GB free memory while game play
my graphics card has 4GB of memory.
Ultra setting => Crash after an intro where the character ends up in jail
High setting => Crash after some time, i can get to intro and a bit further
Medium setting => OK
...
so at least it's playable for me

Getting a similar problem, game crashes after char creation, game hangs for a moment, entire screen goes either brown or green and then a no signal appears on my monitor, audio continues in background
Running an i7 3770k @ 3.9GHz and a GTX 660Ti 2GB Memory with 8GB RAM, so i'm pretty close to recommended reqs
All latest updates done (including the visual C fix that has been floating around as well as the display drivers and directx)
Ultra setting => Crash after an intro where the character ends up in jail
High setting => Crash after some time, i can get to intro and a bit further
Medium setting => Crashes same time as High
and i absolutely refuse to play on Low settings, i'd rather have my nether regions shaved by a drunk Dalek human hybrid..
