My sims 3 won't launch

My sims 3 won't start as it is saying error can not start launcher when a game update is being installed but i haven't in stalled anything.

its been coming up with this message from the start of June please help.

@Marinette-D What version of Windows do you have?

1. Try right click the game icon and click check for updates - this may restart the update

2. Try right click the game icon and click repair game and see if the update restarts or completes.

You do not have to do anything - patching will be automatic through Origin now.
