Sims 4 Hard drive issues

So I was able to put the electronic arts app on my external hard drive, and change the installation of my sims 4 game to my external hard drive also. I finally re downloaded the game onto my external hard drive, and that all works, but the sims 4 game also re downloaded on my computer, and I double checked the location that it was installing to- and definitely my external drive. How do I fix this??

Are you sure it's not a shortcut of the Sims 4 icon that downloaded? Keep in mind that your documents folder (where screenshots and save files are kept) does not move over to HDD/SSD when you install the game on it, this will always be in your documents folder.
