Unfortunately no new content is coming as much we want it; they stopped development over a year ago because people whined it wasn't exactly what they wanted.
It was thee weakest story, but a lot had to do with an extremely poorly run development and massive EA interference; Id suggest you look up the kotaku article on it. Long read but very insightful. Despite a weaker story it had good combat, rpg elements and finally the open world that was needed. Also remember, this was intended to be the first game not a one shot so the story would've continued.
There were supposed to be far more planets and dlc (I believe the Quarian ark was it)
