Mass Effect BDtS DLC not finding ME's installation so it can't install

I registered ME on Origin and downloaded it through that. I assume it updated the game to patch 1.02, yes? But Origin doesn't automatically update the game with BDtS DLC, does it?

I have my games installed on a separate partition from C:\ drive. Is it because of this that the DLC install tool can't find the ME installation? Why doesn't origin just update the game with the DLC through itself?

Please confirm my assumptions, or if there is anything you could suggest - I'm supposing I will have to install that one game to the C:\ drive if I want to play BDtS (and I do, great DLC!).

I see two folders for DLC and read somewhere that DLC_UNC is BDtS. So did Origin actually already patch it in for me?
