Why were active BF5 servers removed while empty BF1 servers were not removed? How does that make sense? 

We paid full price for BF5 and BF1 - while they were significantly over priced. Most people I know would never pay these amounts for these games.

If we only needed a few BF5 servers, then leave us with just a few servers.
