Why are the new "The Sims 4" article so expensive?

"To work" is with € 40.00 the most expensive games Expansion I've ever bought.
And it was also never sold before in the history of the Games as an extension for a high price.

How is this price?
If it is the new game content righteous? and why?
Will the Sims 4 a luxury item?
I would be pleased to reply on ... (and I've bought "to work")

I agree........prices way to high $80 for a 2 year old game and then all the EP.
