Endless Loading Icon on black screen when opening game [ Edited ]

Hi. 

When i click play in Origin, the black screen comes up, with the little green loading icon in the bottom right. It keeps fading in and out, like its actually working, but this just goes on forever. Waited up to 20 minutes the last time. Is this because the game is new out and its trying to log in to some sort of server? Or is it another reason? 

Also, the game's cursor is present and controllable.
