Re: PC - Crashing issue - Information request.

★★★★ Guide

After the last patch, the game began to fly daily. It takes off after two, three hours of play when viewing a squad or score, or when choosing a vehicle at the beginning of a round, or choosing a place of deployment on the map (on the flag or the unit’s fighter).

Play with DirectX 12

Windows 10 64 bit;

INTEL Core i7-4770K;

MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X 8 Gb GDDR5;

RAM 16 Gb

What did you do just before the crash happen?

Just playing. The game seems to crash at random. It has crashed while engaged

in various in-game scenarios and activities.

Does it happen in all game modes?

It has happened in Conquest, Breakthrough, Grand Operations, and Rush.

Does it always happen at the same action/place?

No the action and place is random.

Honestly - It's begun to be so bad I have quit playing for a while now... Happens in every game mode, tho Conquest seems to be more often than other modes for me.

  • What did you do just before the crash happen?

Playing normally - There is no do or don'ts, doesn't matter if I play in a Tank or infantry or use planes...

  • Does it happen in all game modes?

Rush doesn't seem to trigger it on my PC - Conquest is the biggest trigger so far, worst case so far was 4 times in less than 2 hours... So I quit.

  • Does it always happen at the same action/place?

No, happens on all maps I've been in, none seem stable at all.

  • What did you do just before the crash happen?

It usually happens after one or two games, right at the end screen or when leaving to the menu the game just freezes for a few seconds and crashes with no info.

  • Does it happen in all game modes?

It has happened with all game modes .

  • Does it always happen at the same action/place?

No. It's happening usually after one or two games or when leaving for the menu, it has also happened mid game for no reason.

By using the Windows event Viewer it always looks the same, it crashes with an error in KERNELBASE.dll, it's the only game or app where this happened.

  • What did you do just before the crash happen?
  • Play normal Battlefield, like always.
  • Does it happen in all game modes?
  • YES
  • Does it always happen at the same action/place?
  • No, absolutly random and not predicteble when it crashes.
  • miscellaneous
  • I am playing on dx11 and the problem seems to occur since the latest patch. everything is up to date and i even tried older drivers etc. One workaround for me,was to go from dx11 to dx12. I had way less crashes but it still crashed. Same event log error as dx11.

By using the older Geforce Game Ready Driver 419.17 - less crashes occur.

Having this "crash to desktop" issue in 1 of 20 rounds since december, since february its getting intense in 1 of 2 rounds.

  • We need Dxdiag, to see what Hardware and drivers you are using.
    Attached, but basically 9900K, 1080 Ti and 16Gb RAM

  • What did you do just before the crash happen?
    Started the game, played a bit. It happens everywhere though, even if I'm just idling in main menu or customizing a character.
    I made no changes to software or hardware of my computer before and after I started having this issue. It randomly appeared sometime after the latest update.

  • Does it happen in all game modes?
    Yes

  • Does it always happen at the same action/place?
    Already answered but No

I have also tried multiple nvidia drivers and both DX11 and DX12, it's not it. I get exception code "0x887a0005" while crashing to desktop every round. Computer is not overclocked

Guys,to the question "What did you do just before the crash happen?" do not just reply that you played normally.Include any game update, drivers update, recent programs installation, recent overclock or any kind of tweak you did.

to me,for example, occurred after the last big update of the game ,on February.

Best regards

  • What did you do just before the crash happen?

 - Nothing usual than playing bf5, usually around explosion or walking around.

  • Does it happen in all game modes?

 - Yeah, all of them

  • Does it always happen at the same action/place?

 - Nope, totaly random, random spot, random actions, direct crash into a bsod no matter what i do, remove my Overclock, my xmp etc.

Been the same for since the release of the game, didn't occured with the beta.

Edit : New cpu (Intel 8086k), New motherboard (z370 tomahawk from msi), New memory (G.skill 3200mhz), New Gpu (Radeon VII), recent SSD (860evo/760evo). Also got multiple clean windows 10 installation with and without october update, cleaned the game/origin cache & did so much. Nothing changed.
