Is buying battlepacks worth the cost?

I bought a battlepack worth $12 and all I got was useless items. I was hoping for scopes and stuff but I got paint schemes instead and stuff I dont care. I got nothing which could enhance any weapon. I think I wasted $12 on this. Is EA ripping off people with this?

Battlepacks are a complete crap-shoot, it is all luck.  EA is not forcing people to buy them, it is just an option for people that want to buy instead of play the game to unlock them.  You have TONS of opportunities to unlock free gold Battlepacks by playing.  If you already have alot of things unlocked via Battlepack, your chances of getting more unlock items like scopes, grips, etc go down even further and you will get more "useless" stuff like paints and 25% Xp boosts.
