DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with dxgi_error_driver_internal_error ("The Driver encountered a problem and..."

EA and Gaming Community,

Help?

I cant not run BF4 for any amount of time before getting the "DirectX function  "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with dxgi_error_driver_internal_error ("The Driver encountered a problem and was put into the device removed state."). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680', Driver:33165

I also get a second error (Each time a crash happens, actually two error boxes are displayed) - Which is DirectX Function "device->CreateTexture2D(&texDesc,desc.subResourceCount !=0? reinterpret_cast<constD3D11_SUBRESOURCE_DATA*>(desc.subResource...

System Specs (nothing OC'd)

Windows 7

AMD FX-8350

SABERTOOTH 99FX R2

16 gigs Kingston RAM (KHX1866C10d3/8GX)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680

Things I Have Tried

I have tried numerous solutions found online, but nothing appears to work. (Which is why i am here - as a last ditch effort)

  • Downclock GPU (refeuse to increase voltage of my GPU - a GTX 680 should run the game full screen mode at medium settings without having to increase voltage)
  • Updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers
  • Update numerous other drivers ie: Realteck Audio Drivers
  • Run the Directx setup in the BF folder (Deleting all CAB files prior to doing so)
  • Updating Windows (which says i am 100%)
  • Run in windowed mode - This works for a while - but eventually it will crash
  • Virus Scans, Malwareware scans, Etc
  • Numerous other things that i have found online - but nothing has worked (cant tell you the things i have tried since the game has launched)

Frusteration

I have a steam account with more then 70+ games - do not have an issue with any of the other games. These games include CSGO, Boarderlands 2, Rome 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Entire CIV collection, Entire Stronghold collection, Call fo Duty Black OPS 2, Day of Defeat, etc.

On Origin - I have Sim City (Yes - prelaunch customer as well - issues with that Launch as well, Cmon EA. At least i got a "free game"), BF3 (Appears this Game has similar issue as well - but not going to go into that because i wrote that issue off because i was waiting for BF4 to come out), Mass Effect - Game actually Worked...

My Ask

Please provide a FIX? I know with PC gaming - it is hard to "Get it right" with the amount of CPU variations that can exist. But i am seeing a pattern across the net saying this isnt an isolated issue / many people having the same error.

I am also seeing a lot of complaints stating they are getting no support?

I am open to providing any data/logs that is needed to troubleshoot this. As a premium member, i dont mind giving my $$$ for a game that "works" - but if i cant play, i dont want to pay. Therefore, if this game can not be fixed - i would like a refund for this game.

I understand i am one person of many who have bought this game - but word of mouth, social media, etc - can hurt a company in the long run. Help me help you keep your customers, please provide some support.

Thank you,

Walt

Did you ever fix this issue? What bugs the heck out of me is i built this PC a couple months back knowing this game was coming out and wanted to make sure on launch the PC would run on a decent setting. About a week before launch, i decided to play some BF3 - just to get used to the BF series. (Been playing a lot of CSGO lately).

Anyhoot, when i loaded up BF3 - same issue. Im hoping posting here will help me find a solution. (First time ever posting on a Forum when having a issue - usually i can figure stuff out after a couple of days...)

So, i sit here and wait...

I am having the same basic problem with DirectX. I was able to download the game but unable to Install? Any help would be appreciated. All drivers have been updated per EA live chat but did not fix problem.

Having the excact same problems here.

Also BF3 started getting this DirectX error a couple of weeks ago, and I have played that game on the same PC since the release with no problems!

It seems someone has messed something up, I wonder what it is. Drivers/Origin/BF?

The worst thing is that I don't see any report from EA/DICE on the issue. It just feels like a big slap in the face, when we have bought and supported so many games of theirs....

Do they even reply on this "Answer HQ" Beta ?? (<----love this btw...have they completely stopped releasing products that are finished?.) (-.-)

This has worked for me, and havn't seen the error in a few hours.  Here are my specs, ( I have posted this post in different directx issues on these forums and this method fixed the Hung Error and would like to see if this will also fix this current issue we have here).

Intel core 3970x six core

32 gigs of Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz ddr3

GTX 690 watercooled

Coolermaster 1300 watts p/s

I'm a firm believer of removing drivers manually, since day one.  I don't like using Geforce Experience bs software, and these are the steps i took.  Only because they leave old driver stuff on your pc and can conflict.

Download the 331.40 beta drivers, this is what i downloaded over at the nvidia website, and works flawlessly for me, no more direcx hung error.  Make sure you remember where you saved it to.

Download driver sweeper http://www.techspot.com/downloads.php?action=download_now&id=4266&evp=32db47643586947b685d0fcff107c1... and install it.

-Uninstall your graphics driver via control panel, manually.

-Restart in safe mode, for me it's mashing F8 on bootup

-Start up driver sweeper, and select Display and Phsyx for nvidia, and click on Clean.

-Open up windows explore and locate your nvidia folder, which is C:\NVIDIA for me, and delete that folder.

-Restart in normal mode, locate the 331.40 drivers you downloaded earlier and install it.  Follow the instructions and you should be good to go after this.

You shouldn't have to go into your nvidia panel and have your video card Phsyx settings run in CPU mode.  It should be fine as Auto-select mode.  If you've made that change from earlier recommendations, I'd probably set it back to (Recommended).  That's how i'm running the phsyx settings atm.  I hope this helps, and i'll keep an eye out on this post to see what results you guys get from this.  GOODLUCK!
