I recently purchased the sims 3 on the EA app. When I click play nothing happens, it shows its loading for a second but doesn't open. It just takes me back to the EA app. I've tried reading through the responses on here and watching videos but there's mixed answers. I'm not sure what would work for my case.

@aects4 Please manually install DirectX 9, as described here:

You'll also need to apply one of the workarounds for the Alder Lake issue. Choose whichever one works best for you from the accepted solution of this thread:
and apply it to TS3.exe, without the W, since you've installed the game through the EA App.
By the way, thanks for providing the dxdiag, which made spotting the issues very straightforward.
