Sims stopped aging

I know this question has probably been asked before, but my sims has stopped aging. They age when I start up the game by one day and that's it. I don't touch the aging button so it is enabled. I have moved them out and then back in, moved the aging bar back and forth, nothing works. I just want them to age up normally. Does anybody have any suggestions or ideas that I didn't think of? Much help is appreciated!!!
