Sims 3 keeps crashing

My sims 3 keeps crashing, when i got it i play it for a little while and then it crashed and latly it is crashing more constantly, and now i can only play about 10 minutes or less. the only expansion pack i have is supernatural, and university on the way, i fear it won't fix itself before i get it.
