Sims 3 expansion pack launcher problems

I have two expansion pack sims ambitions and sims generation. When ever I want to play regular sims 3 launcher says to put in sims generations disk. How do I play regular sims.

You put in the disc for the latest expation pack which would be generations. The sims 3 base game only comes with Sunset Valley so you play that town/world. Generations just adds interactions and some items and other things to the base game and ambitions adds more Jobs to the base game. The two expation packs you own do not add other worlds to the game. There are other expation packs that do add new worlds to the game.
