Origin Downloads Crippled vs Physical?

I bought digital The Sims 3 and The Sims 3: Generations then got the Create a World to make my own stuff but it would seem that I can't run the in game editing mode because ORIGIN intercepts the loading. Origin is open. The Sims 3 Game Launcher is open. Can you put a patch on Origin for this to work maybe?
