Needing to upload my expansion discs to Origin

I own many of the Sims 3 expansion pack discs, and I would like to upload them onto my Origin account, as I'm sure these discs will get lost with small kids around here. When I add the product code from my case into origin, it says either it isn't valid, or doesn't exist.  These are already downloaded on this computer even! I never put in a username or email when originally downloading these games, so there's no way that they are linked to a "different origin account".  Any ideas???
