Missing files / Broken Launcher?

Okay, so basically my last game messed up, so I had to download it again. After the download my launcher WAS working, but the updates weren't so I had to manually update. After the update, my launcher was working. It just came up with the message 'The Sims 3 Launcher has stopped working.' I also checked the files in the folder and I'm pretty sure ALOT of the folders were missing.  Could this be the cause of my Launcher not working and maybe my game? Is there anyway of fixing this? Thanks.

If this is the first time you're trying to launch it, a few files will be missing in the game folder in documents, if that's what you're referring to. 

I would suggest probably manually uninstalling and then reinstalling
