[MAC] MY SIMS 3 GAME WONT START [ Edited ]

when i press play on my game launcher and the black screen comes up when it is meant to say EA, well for me there is just a black screen.

and before you ask me, yes it has worked perfectly fine since i got it;( 

Also i have a MacBook Air

Hi

The black screen can remain black for quite a long time before the game starts. How long are you waiting?

You say it worked perfectly fine since you got it. Does this mean that the black screen used to be quicker and is now taking a lot longer? Have you changed anything since you were last happy with it - for example updated or added expansion packs or other content?
