Legit Games And A Already Used Game

HELP!! 

I have 3 expansion packs for sims 3 already installed with the key, and i can use the exchange. But i was given another expansion pack that has already been used so the key is already used.. Will i still be able to use the exchange if i installed it?

If a game is already used you cannot register it to your account. Therefore the Exchange won't recognize that you have it installed.
