Glitch/Bug for my sims home

So my Sim made some food and put it on the counter.  Then I gave him the action to eat it, and it immediately disappeared.  I cant sell the counter because it says that my sim has an action to do on it.  No matter what I do, it says that I'm having an action with the counter and that I can't even move it in buy mode.  The food isn't on the counter at all and my sim is disgusted when he gets near the counter.  What can I do to solve this problem.  Its most expensive island in the game on the base The SIms 3.  Please help!

Use a cheat to delete the counter:

• open cheat console (shift, ctrl, c)
• type in: moveobjects on (use the same cheat with on becoming off to switch it off)
• press enter

Now go into buy mode and delete it. It shouldn't give you any problems.

Also reset your sim:

• open cheat console
• type in: resetSim firstname lastname
• enter
