Game chrashes when checking in at a resort (Island Paradise Sims 3)

When I want to check in at a resort, the game freezes and I can't do anything else than quit playing it. 

I've read it could have been caused by my sim being self-employed (which my sim is, a self-employed diver), but there were cases where sims weren't self-employed or not employed at all and people still experienced a frozen game when checking in any resort. 

I noticed more people are having this problem, but there was not much attention paid to it from EA. 

Please fix this problem.

EA please, please repair this issue ASAP. This malfunction is a major aspect of this game. I am very dissatisfied with your product! I paid $40 for your product and it is NOT DOING WHAT YOU ADVERTISED that it would do. Either repair or please refund my hard earned money. Please let me know what is being done about this. As your customer I deserve your communication with me.
