Downloading Percentages Decreasing

I am trying to download a game through the Origin program, and the percent downloaded keeps jumping down. It will get to 80% then go down to 60%, get back to 75% and then go back to 50%. It has now been downloading for 8 hours. Why is this happening? Is there a way to fix this problem?

Launch Origin and log in with your account
 
- Click Origin in the top left (main menu)
 
- Select Application Settings
 
- From General tab, scroll down to "Update to the beta version if available" and tick the checkbox
 
- Restart Origin
