Technical Difficulties

So, today I bought The Sims 3, and I was playing for about 2 hours, I was creating some Sims when my laptop randomely shuts off. It happens everytime I try to play the game. Is it a problem with my laptop or is there a problem with the game?

I have this problem too, and my laptop does get hot whilst playing - is there anything I can do to fix this?

Clean it vey thoroughly, all vents, all heat sinks, put it on a cooler tray, do your playing in a temperate location.
