Update download screen not appearing

When I try to update my Sims 3 from 1.42 to 1.67 (big jump, i know) and i click the "Update Now" button the launcher closes and nothing happens. But, when i try to open thelauncher again it says the launcher cannot be opened because a download is happening. The last time I updated a small window with a download progress bar came up. Why isn't that coming up anymore?

You have an open thread on this issue to use the superpatch . if you dont want to use the superpatch like I told you before here ..

than uninstall your base game manually and reinstall and see if it generates a new launcher. that will patch your game to 1.67 but there is no guarentee it will.

PS Im just going to let you know if you dont want to patch your game thats your choice but stop posting over and over your same issue while you do nothing about it! If you do it again Im reporting you
