Unable to connect to EA download manager

I go on to play Sims 3 and  a box with "Unable to Connect to EA download Manager" pops up. I can't sign in because it says that I have to have the updated version of the game to sign in but when I look at my updates for the game it says that the game is fully updated. It's really annoying not being able to sign into my game.Somebody please help? Thankies!
