The Sims 3 keeps turning off! HELP!!

So, I have the sims 3 and when I turn it on, I can play for about 5-30 minutes, but then after that it closes and says the Sims 3 has stopped responding and it closes down. I don't know what to do. I have tried uninstalling, updating and everything, and it still shuts off. If any one can help it would be greatly appreciated!!

My problem is with changing clothes. This started after the new game patch. I try to change clothes in any way (dresser, edit sim, styling booth, etc.) and as soon as I click on an outfit it automatically stops. It says, "The sims 3 has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution." Every time! It's getting very frustrating.
