Sims 3 (re)installation failed at [File D:\Caches\Sunset Valley.objectCache.]

[File D:\Caches\Sunset Valley.objectCache. Error: Data error (cycli redundancy check)] keeps popping up Frown

Every time the message popped up and I clicked 'RETRY' the installation bar increased so I thought it was going fine but at one point it didn't move at all and I had to cancel.

There's nothing wrong with the DVD drive, all our other CD (Sims 2) and DVD works on the drive.

This is actually my 2nd time installing this game. I have installed this game when I first bought it and un-installed it due to a crash and couple years later I am trying to re-install it again but I am getting stuck at susetvalley.objectcache... etc. I don't recall having this problem during my first Sims 3 installation...

I have tried redeeming my game at Origin but it says the serial code has already been used but this too, I don't remember using it on origin ever T_T

I know this question has been asked many times but I could not find any updated answers.

If someone who faced this issue recently and have resolved it, help will be appreciated!!

@bagcholong I would advise that you download the game. As you cannot remember which account / the code is simply invalid, please contact a game adviser for assistance in getting an account with the game registered: http://eahelp.ea.com/en/ . For help with navigating the site, see this: http://help.ea.com/en/article/contact-ea-help/

After that, simply download the game through Origin

Also look here: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/03/error-cyclic-redundancy-check.html

Let me know if this helps! Please accept a solution if solved
