Hello,
I'd like to begin by saying that I am working on a Macbook Pro running the Mountain Lion OS. I purchased The Sims 3 University Life today and I have yet to be able to play it. Installation was a breeze, but after installing and opening the game I was met with the error message "Disk Authorization Failure: No game disk found! please insert the sims 3 university disk before proceeding" even though the disk is obviously in the drive, and the icon shows up on my desktop.
Having had this problem before with other expansion packs, I tried all of the necessary steps that were given to me back then.
These included:
Uninstalling and then reinstalling the game
Restarting my computer
Restarting my computer while holding command+option+p
Removing the disk and cleaning it off
Under Disk Utilities I verified the disk
After all of this I'm still having a problem with the disk. Could this be a defective disk or are there other options that I should be looking at?
Thanks
Jess

It can always be a defective disc and you can try to give it back and get another one.
But you also have another option: As long as you have your games registered on the Sims 3 website, you can always download and install them from the Origin client.
Here is how you register your games:

Here you will get the Origin client for Mac:

The only thing you have to remember is to log in with the same account (= email and password) that you use for the Sims 3 website.
