Need help registering my sims 3 game

hi I need help I dont know if there is any way to fix it but i cant register my sims 3 game because years ago (6ish years) i think my dad registered it on a different account but i never had access to the account is there any way for me to register the serial code with my account now? I cant get anything from the exchange because of this
