My game is lagging! [ Edited ]

I got The Sims last Saturday and played it and it went really well on my PC. However on about Wednesday it started stopping. The animations like Shadows and the Triangle thing above his head still moved however I couldn't move him or him do any actions.

Im not sure if this matters but it was at the time an update came out which i didnt get that it started

Yes but wouldn't they mean that the whole game would lag and not my sim?

It would apply to both.  As for your edit, you really should update to patch 1.50 since it gets rid of lots of little errors that cause lagging.
