I need an app??

I have a touchsmart 15 laptop. I received the Sims 3 and Dragon Valley downloads. My laptop keeps saying I need an app to download the dragon valley, but when I try to go to the app store it shows me a bunch of random *. I had an issue the last time I bought Dragon Valley; it refused to download. I am getting stressed out about this so I'm a tad angry right now that this new game isn't working on my laptop. Someone please tell me what app to download or if I can download origin.
