Hi @darlasue121060

Thanks for providing your system information and the additional details, it's very helpful.

I have several suggestions, that will hopefully resolve the issues you've described. please click on the spoiler links below for detailed instructions for each:

Flash Issues:

Suggestion 1. Clear your Flash Player Storage

Spoiler
You need to clear your browser cache first. You'll find the instructions here: Clear your browser Cache

Then you have to clear the Flash player storage, it's as simple as a click just follow the 3 steps below and finally restart your browser.

1- Check your Global Storage Settings

  1. Go to the Adobe Flash Player Global Storage Settings panel.

    • The box listing your Global Storage Settings is a tool and not an image.
In the box you can apply changes to your settings.
  2. Click on the slider bar and move it all the way to the right (unlimited).
    original2.jpg
  3. Make sure "Allow 3rd party Flash content" is enabled
  4. Place a check mark beside "Store common Flash components to reduce download times"

The tool automatically saves your changes so you do not have to worry about navigating away or accepting the changes manually.

2 - Clear your Flash Player Storage

  1. Go to the Website Storage Setting Panel.
    • The box you see is a tool and not an image; it will allow you to make changes if you click on it.
  2. Click on "Delete All Sites"
    allsites.jpg
  3. Once all sites are deleted please try your game again.

3- Adding Pogo to the trusted location list

Image

These are the sites you need to add:

  • pogo.com
  • game3.pogo.com
  • pogospike-prod.pogo.com

Suggestion 2.  Possible solution for Black Screen

Head up here :Flash Player Help Website

Scroll down to the page until you see the (quite nice) animation:

Right click on the animation and select Settings

settings flash.jpg

You'll see a tiny popup window

Select the first tab. If Enable Hardware Acceleration is checked, then uncheck it.

enable hardware.JPG

Suggestion 3. Check browser settings

Spoiler

For FireFox:  Disable Adobe Flash Protected ModeFlash protected mode can cause Flash performance problems in Firefox, such as persistent hangs or plugin crashes.

  1. Exit Pogo
  2. Click on the FireFox menu icon new fx menu
  3. Click on Add Ons
  4. Click on  Plug Ins
  5. Go to Shockwave Flash and click on Options
  6. Deselect 'Enable Adobe Flash Protected Mode' *
  7. Close and reopen FireFox

For Internet Explorer 11:  Turn off ActiveX Filtering, if it's activated your browser won't run Flash games.

It looks this pictogram in your URL bar

activex.jpg

You can also turn off ActiveX filtering with the menu:

Issue: Show all content pop-up

Suggestion

Is this the message you're talking about? This pop up is from Microsoft  not Pogo

only_secure_content IE.jpg

More information about this message can be found on the Microsoft Support website: Only secure content is displayed

Here are step by step instructions to get rid of "Only secure content" pop up:

To Disable/Enable/Prompt the “Only secure content is displayed” message:

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tool menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Security tab, and then click Custom level.
  4. In the Settings box, scroll down to the Miscellaneous section, and under Display mixed content choose Enable from the following options:

Disable, will not display non-secure items.
Enable, will always display non-secure items without asking
Prompt, will prompt you when a webpage is using non-secure content

Now relaunch Internet Explorer and log into Pogo. You shouldn't see the pop up again.

Java Issues

Your browser may be blocking Java if you're using an outdated version.

Suggestion

Spoiler

The easiest way to update Java is through the Java Control Panel:

Left Click on the windows start menu and select Control Panel
Double click on the Java Icon  to open the Java Control Panel
 Click on
the Advance tab, scroll to the bottom of the page to the Miscellanious header
Click on the box next to 'Suppress sponsor offers when installing or updating Java' then click on the OK button
Click on the Update tab then c
lick on Check Now and it will do it all for you.

Note: You will want to allow the Security prompts. The first time you play a Java based game that uses pogo.com or game3.pogo.com , you will see a prompt asking if you want to 'Run this application' ,  click on 'Allow and Remember'.

If you prefer to manually download it, here is the direct link for all operating systems from the Java web site:  Java 8.66

If you need a tutorial see this thread: How to update Java

Note: I've been playing Java based games using Java 8.66 in Internet Explorer (as well as FireFox) and haven't run into any problems.

Hope this helps, Just  Image

Hi Just,

Thank you for your quick response.  I'm glad I looked in my Spam folder, or I would have missed you.

The three games that I'm having trouble with are Mahjong Escape, Trizzle, and Word Out.  There are no error messages.  The Mahjong Escape loads up until the actual level choices, then the screen turns black.  Trizzle loads all the way up to the flat red loading stage, but only loads half way, then the screen just sits there.  Word Out loads all the way to where I can click on Start, but the screen turns white.  All of these games worked just fine a few days ago.  But, I can tell you that with Trizzle, I had accidentally right clicked (arthritis) while it was loading one day, and had to left click to get rid of the pop up box that appears when you right click, and that's when the red line stopped moving and now that's the exact spot where it stops loading every single time.  I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but just wanted to let you know.

Also, I've been struggling with a pop up box saying something like seeing all contents.  This thing has been popping up in just about every single game I play.  If I click on see all content, it'll throw me out of the room I have chosen.  But, if I click on don't see all content, then at the end of a game, a yellow page comes up with all the games stats, but it usually doesn't let me click on play again, unless I close out and go back in.  Very annoying when you're in a multiplayer game room!

Here is my computer information:

Flash Version for IE:  19,0,0,226 installed

IE 11.0

I would like to mention that when I clicked on "System Information" the Pogo Compatibility Scan showed this:

Browser No problem found!

Java Not installed / disabled
Operating System No problem found!
Flash No problem found!
Resolution Not supported

I haven't tried to play a game yet this morning, but last night my Java worked just fine.  I checked my resolution yesterday, and it was set at the 1366x768.

A pop up box just appeared at the bottom of the screen on the Compatibility Scan page.  It says:

This webpage wants to run the following add-on: Java SE Runtime Environment 8 update 51 from Oracle America, Inc. with the option to "allow" or "allow for all websites".

Does this mean that I no longer have Java?  How can that be?  How can things change overnight when my computer isn't even on?

Here's the rest of the System information on the Compatibility Scan page:

Java Versions installed False
Operating System Windows 8.1
Resolution 1366 x 768
Cookies Enabled? True
Do Not Track False

I only use Firefox for 2 games that Pogo won't let me play with IE because I didn't install the new Java update, as they advised players not to.  I used to like using FF a few years ago, when I had XP pro, but now it runs real jittery and slow.

Mozilla Firefox 41.0.2 (x86 en-US) 85.7 MB

In the Control Panel it says I have java 32-bit and Flash Player 19.0.0.226

I hope this helps you to be able to help me.

Now, should I click on the Java Runtime Environment to "allow"?
Thank you again for your time.  Have an awesome day!

Darla

You're welcome.  I have just a couple more questions, if I may?  In Pogo, I no longer have a top tool bar?  Why do you think that is?

Also, am I correct in assuming that I can now download the latest Java update?

Thank you again for all you did to help me out.  You deserve a raise, or at least a promotion!

@darlasue121060

To display the menu ( what you're referring to as the tool bar) at the top of the page change your browser settings:

For Internet Explorer:

Right-click on the empty Menu Bar area you should get a pop-up, select the options: 'Menu Bar',  'Bookmarks Toolbar' and Lock the toolbars'

For FireFox:

Click on the FireFox Menu icon > Click on Customize, a new screen will open, scroll to the bottom > Click on 'Show / Hide Toolbars', select the options: 'Menu Bar; and 'Bookmarks Toolbar'

ETA: Yes, you should go ahead and update to Java 8.65, it works for both IE and FireFox.

Hope this helps, Just  Image

Re: Flash Games

★★★ Novice

Okay, I got the task bars taken care of, but ever since I downloaded the new Java, none of the Java games work now.

It says my Java is enabled, so I'm not sure what the problem is.  I can go to FF and it gives me the option to allow Java, but on IE nothing pops up for me to allow it, or run it.  And it was strange at first for both browsers, popping up telling me that my Flash Player was not up to date, but it won't let me update it because it's integrated in the Win 8.1 system.  And, when I go to my programs, it's in there, and it's updated.  Ugh!  Hate 8.1!!  But, not the least bit interested in trying Win 10 either.

So, any idea as to what to do with my Java problem now?  Maybe I should just go back to my prior one?  Even in FF there is no "allow and remember" option, so I have to keep clicking "run".  Or if I click on the little icon in the top bar near the address bar, I can click "keep allowing", but I still have to do that for every single game.  If I remember correctly, it won't even let me type in Pogo in the "exceptions" space provided, on IE.  There's a triangle there with an exclamation mark, and every time I type the 3 different pogo.coms in there, and then click "add" it just disappears.

I'm about ready to pull my hair out of my head at this point!
